
Basic Socks

What can I say about sock knitting? It’s easy, it’s fun, and it’s addicting! This is a great introduction to circular knitting, if you have never knit in the round before. In this class, you will learn how to knit a very basic pair of socks, custom fit to your (or a lucky other’s) feet.
Materials:
Yarn – Two to three 50 gram skeins, plus 1 skein of contrasting color of same weight for heel and toe, if desired.
Reinforcing thread (optional) – we will discuss this in class before you need it.
Needles – Set of double pointed needles, appropriate to the yarn chosen, but bring everything you have in case you want to adjust the needle size.

Learn to create your own custom yarns! We'll cover some easy methods that you'll easily be able recreate right in your own kitchen using professional color safe dyes. Please remember to wear clothes you don't mind getting stained.
Materials:
2-3 colors of Jacquard Acid Dyes
1 Regular Sock Yarn Blank
1 Feltable Wool Yarn Blank
2-3 Large Squeeze Bottles (one for each color)
You may also wish to bring a kitchen apron
