First Time Toe Up Socks

This is the perfect first sock. Choose any yarn and any foot size, no swatching necessary! Easy going knitting with a fit as you go design makes learning socks simple as pie!

Materials:
Pattern in included in class fee
100 – 150 grams of washable yarn. You can use anything from fingering to bulky. We’ve had lots of students either use Lynn's Cashmere Sock Yarn (1 skein makes a pair of average size socks) or Debbie Bliss Cashmerino chunky (3 balls makes an average pair of socks).
Bring double point needles smaller than recommended for your yarn. Lynn recommends bringing any double points you have so you can have some options in class.

Learn to Spin! The Spinning Wheel Sessions

Take your knitting to the next step, spinning your own yarn! Get a chance to try a variety of the shop wheels or get more acquainted with your wheel. This class focuses on brand new spinners. We’ll cover spinning vocabulary, spinning singles, drafting, plying, and finishing your yarns
with many different fibers. Class includes use of our spinning wheels and all fiber needed for the class. Receive a $45 refund of the class fee if you decide purchase your spinning wheel at Rae’s Yarn Boutique.

Spin Sock Yarn

Learn the joy of not only knitting your own socks, but spinning the yarn as well.  We’ll be covering what breeds of sheep make good sock yarns, and what structure of yarns wear the best or give you a desired color effect. Spin up your singles between classes and we’ll have a big plying party on the second class. Pair this up with the dyeing class that follows the first class to really get a custom yarn.
This class is designed for wheel spinning, but could be quite doable on a drop spindle as well.

Materials:
Spinning Wheel w/ 4 empty bobbins (bring your high speed flyer if you have one or your fastest whorl)
4oz spinning fiber (we'll choose this is class)

easy methods that you'll easily be able recreate right in
your own kitchen using professional color safe dyes. Please

Learn two different ways of repairing a worn sock, depending on how worn it is. Bring a sock that needs some TLC to class along with a small darning needle. Leave with a fixed sock & the tools to make your precious hand knit socks live to see another day.

This adorable baby set can be knit for preemies, newborns, or babies up to about 6 months depending on yarn choice. We’ve been using this pattern to teach brand new knitters & it makes a great project to learn a few new skills while making a sweater, hat, and booties for a wee one in your life.

Lynn’s fun wrist warmers are a super quick knit! In a few hours knit up cozy warm mitts that leave your fingers free to do important things (like knit) while warming your hand and wrist. These are becoming really popular with teens and kids so they’re perfect gifts for those young people in your life. I know once winter comes in I live in these when I’m knitting or using the computer.

Materials:
Approx. 50g of soft yarn. Again, lots of weights will do. A really heavy yarn may need an extra ball to make a pair of wrist warmers.
Double point needles appropriate for your yarn.

Magic Short Row Heel Socks

We explore further options knitting socks with one needle.
Expand your sock knitting knowledge with a figure-eight
cast-on, short-row toes, and short row heels. Top all that
off with a very stretchy crochet bind-off.

Try a new twist on felted bags. Combining 2 shades of Noro and 2 different solids these large tote bags are super
exciting to knit. The colors weave back and forth to create a very complex looking fabric that's also extra dense to help make this bag sturdy.
